This is an unused Japanese honey bee hive in a stacked box style.
Thank you for your many repeat orders and for adding extension boxes after the bees have moved in.
Due to a lack of time for production, I am creating and listing these little by little so I can also build my own hives.
I have been involved with Japanese honey bees for 22 years.

Product Details
Dimensions per box: 260 x 260 mm, 30 mm thick wood
Easy to disassemble by removing screws.
The wood used is cedar.
The wood is thick and has been air-dried in the shade for 5 years, making it excellent for insulation within the hive. This hive is preferred by bees, who tend to favor older hives, and is different from other types.
The bottom box has a door, and the bottom board is easy to remove for simple cleaning.
While some hives use wire for comb support, this hive uses bamboo or wooden rods.
I have been taught by experienced beekeepers that bees tend to avoid hives with wire comb support when selecting a home.
Please be sure to apply beeswax thoroughly before use.
This hive has been developed through the guidance of experienced beekeepers and my own experience.

I was very happy to receive many reports last year of bees settling into these hives.

I make these as a hobby because I enjoy it, so the craftsmanship is not professional. The price is set so that almost all of the proceeds are used for shipping, fees, and material costs (especially the thick wood, which is expensive, and lumber prices are also increasing). Therefore, discounts are difficult.
I personally have 51 of these same hives, and as of Reiwa 7 (2025), 42 of them are inhabited by wild Japanese honey bees.
While the description may be brief and some parts may be unclear, I will include instructions on hive placement and preferred locations for bees, as taught by my experience and experienced beekeepers.
As this is purely a hobby, please refrain from purchasing if you are sensitive to minor imperfections.
The packaging will be wrapped in cardboard for shipping.
Due to my work schedule, shipping is primarily done on weekends.
