Carved Red Lacquer Tea Caddy, Peony Design, Authentic Lacquerware, Natsume, Peony Carving, Tea Ceremony Utensil, Tea Practice
This is a natsume (tea caddy) crafted using the authentic lacquerware technique of Tsuishu (carved red lacquer).
I am parting with it from my collection and would like to pass it on to someone who will cherish it.
[Features]
? Intricate Carving: Peonies, symbols of wealth and nobility, known as the King of a Hundred Flowers, are luxuriously carved from the lid to the sides.
? Tsuishu Technique: This is a highly labor-intensive traditional craft where patterns are created by carving into layers of red lacquer that have been applied repeatedly.
? Texture: The depth of the carving and the moist texture characteristic of lacquer suggest this is an authentic Tsuishu (lacquerware) piece. The unevenness from the carving fits comfortably in the hand. The interior is finished with a beautiful black lacquer, making the green of the matcha stand out exceptionally well.
Size: Approximately 6.5cm in diameter, 6.5cm in height.
It was used for a period and then kept in storage at home.
As this is an older item, there are some minor scratches. Please check the photos. We kindly ask that only those who understand that this is a vintage item kept in home storage make a purchase.
Thank you very much for your understanding.
