This is iron(III) oxide powder, useful for expressing the rusted iron color of rolling stock, bridges, tanks, and railway ties when creating railway model dioramas. Paint, even matte finishes, can look flat and unnatural.

Bricks are also colored with iron(III) oxide, and it can be used for coloring to mimic old-fashioned bricks.

Additionally, by mixing it with colorless paint, you can create a dark reddish-brown paint. It is actually used in rust-preventive paints.

When mixed with epoxy resin, you can create dark reddish-brown solid objects. At that time, by mixing in fillers such as alumina, calcium carbonate powder, or talc and making it clay-like, you can save on iron oxide.
